The Academy

 Dress Code

Boys' Oxford Shirts

The spirit of the dress code suggests a certain level of formality during the academic day and at designated school functions. It is expected that students will dress in a neat, clean, and presentable manner at all times.

Grades One Through Six:

Shirts: Boys may wear a solid color dress shirt, polo shirt, or turtleneck.

Girls may wear a solid color dress shirt, blouse, polo shirt, or turtleneck. Shirts must have a collar.

Pants: Boys and girls may wear casual dress pants, khakis, corduroys and other cotton and/or polyester blend pants.

Dress shorts: (not athletic shorts or lycra shorts) Solid colored shorts may be worn when the weather is appropriate.

Girls may also wear solid colored jumpers, skirts, skorts and capris when the weather is appropriate.

Boys and girls may not wear athletic pants, wind pants, sweat pants, and denim pants.

Shoes: Boys and girls may wear sneakers or casual dress shoes.

Platform shoes may not be worn, and sandals may not be worn. Please keep in mind the important goal of student safety and comfort on the playground.

Jewelry: Students may wear watches , small gold or silver stud earrings, one necklace that does not detract from the uniform  (no chokers).  Watches should not have alarms set to go off during class time.

No make-up is to be worn at school.
Hats may not be worn indoors.

A dress code is to teach students that there is a time and a place for different attire.  This is your child’s first “work” environment and we want to instill in them the idea of proper “work” attire.  The dress code is intended to eliminate the distraction of fads and fashion.
