Native Americans

Iroquois Indians lived in Ohio in the 1600s and 1700s.  They hunted, fished, and traded goods.  They built canoes and used wampum for money.  By the 1700s, Ohio had nearly 15,000 people belonging to several different Indian groups.  The Eries, Wyandots, Shawnees and Miamis were the largest of these groups.
